The Search for Enduring Love
Perhaps the story was inspired by the special love I witnessed in the lives of those closest to my heart. It also grew from my own doubts and failures—and from my search for that perfect place where genuine love lives hand in hand with commitment and endurance.
Meeting Them
I first met Lucien, Enya, and their family three years ago, in the recesses of my mind. Slowly, their world began to take shape. With each passing day, their characters became more real, and I found myself searching for a way to give them a voice and a reason for being.
I created a life for them in which mutual love could flourish, even as they faced challenges, heartbreak, and loss.
A World Shaped by Place
Their story unfolds in places I know well and have visited —inspired by the Bahamas, an Atlantic island nation close to my heart, and beautiful Bermuda, where dreams seem possible. It also reaches cosmopolitan Vancouver, Canada, and scenic Portugal, a country I have never visited but whose people I imagine as warm and beautiful.
